Coming up by the end of this year, Mexico will put in place new rules for piloting a drone. Many countries are tightening regulations on drones due to their greater commercial use.
What is bound to be controversial, is that licensing and registering a drone here requires Mexican citizenship!
Larger commercial drones over 55 pounds will need a license, and failure to have it could result in stiff fines.
Lighter weight drones will have to be registered as well. No word on whether there will be a seperate class for amateur pilots, or rules that allow tourists to fly drones while here.
