Set to the backdrop of a picture perfect Rocky Point sunset, the first same sex marriage ceremony in Rocky Point was performed this past April 23rd. Martin Granados wed Tony Christofano in an intimate setting.
Mexico is in the process of formalizing equal marriage rights stemming from a 2010 Supreme Court ruling. This wedding is among a handful of marriages in the State so far that have set the precedent for others to follow.
Rocky Point has grown as a wedding destination over the past few years. Combine this with the expansion of marriage rights in Mexico, and Rocky Point may be poised to experience a significant growth in this segment of the tourist industry.
The ceremony was performed on beautiful Las Conchas Beach, at the Casa de la Playa.
