This festival is all about cooking on the grill!
 
Mayor Kiko Munro met with organizers of Puerto Peñasco’s 1st Brasa (Grill) Fest 638, meant to promote the diversity of culinary culture, creativity, and the flavors of food prepared locally.
The mayor congratulated chefs Luca Appendino, Javier García Cerrillo, Antonio Acuña, and Neftalí Ponce Hernández, along with other organizers of the event, which will showcase grilling skills and culinary offerings on May 25th at Peñasco del Sol hotel starting at 5 p.m. (tickets 150 pesos adults / 75 pesos children).
 
The chefs noted for this first event they hope to conquer the palates of Puerto Peñasco residents and visitors alike, extending an invitation to everyone to come out to taste the grilled steak, seafood, and other styles of local fine dining.
More than 25 businesses are also set to take part in the grill fest, offering authentic Sonoran products including wine, beer, bacanora, gourmet products, and pastries, among others.
Chefs participating in this first Brasa Fest 638 include renowned chefs from Laguna Shores, Pane e Vino, Mayan Palace, The Grand Mayan, Hotel Peñasco del Sol, Restaurante de Ramón, Octopus, and Avocato. The event promises to provide a friendly-family atmosphere accompanied with pleasant music next to the spectacular sunset over the Sea of Cortez.
 
Organizers explained proceeds from the event will go toward Two Finish Ministries here in Puerto Peñasco.
