La Loma, or The Hill, is the name of the low mountain out on the west end of Rocky Point’s Sandy Beach. The site is popular with off roaders who gather there on weekends and climb the along sand dune that rises up to the top.
Recently, Rocky Point Zipline  constructed a series of zippiness that take clients from the top down to the desert below.
This past Sunday, one of the zipline supports failed, possible due to an excess of weight. Two customers and one employee were injured as a result. This happened on the longest of the biplane sections. The two customers landed on a sand dune, and were transported to a local clinic with non-life threatening injuries.
Currently Rocky Point Ziplines has suspended business while local authorities investigate and perform an inspection of the facilities. photo courtesy of Periódico De Front.
