Rocky Point’s Bomberos, or firefighters, got a big boost this weekend. 3 fire engines and an ambulance were donated to local first responders. In a ceremony this past Saturday, firefighters received the keys to the vehicles. The groups that helped make this happen include the local Rotary Club International, the Las Conchas Home Owners Association, as well as the Rotary Club from Surprise Arizona. Speakers at the event, which took place at the cities main fire station, included Rotary Club President Shandra Keesecker, Las Conchas HOA President Ginger Beauchamp, and Rocky Point Mayor Ernesto ‘Kiko’ Munro. All affirmed the importance of these donations to the towns ability to respond to emergency situations. The Bomberos continually work to improve their skills in emergency response.  Along with proficiency in Jaws of Life rescue technology, the Bomberos are certified in Vertical Rope Rescue, Life Guard duties, as well as High Rise Rescue techniques. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, the new vehicles were taken out for a spin around town, in a an impromptu parade.
