The dust has settled on the 19th Rocky Point Rally that saw thousands of fun seeking bikers take over the town for a few days. This most established of local tourist events, the Rally has from it’s beginning generated support for local charity organizations.
At a recent event at City Hall, event organizers met with Mayor Kiko Munro and representatives of local social service agencies to receive funds generated by this year’s event. On hand were DIF Puerto Peñasco and Sonoyta, the Red Cross, the Local Fire Department, Jose Dávalos Valdivia – Home for the Elderly, George PapanicolauAssociation, La Montaña Special Needs School, as well as the Scholarship Programs and the Rocky Point Student House in Mexicali, sponsored by DIF Peñasco.
This year the amount generated added up to 416,000 pesos, or a little more than 20,000 dollars.
