This weeks eclipse was a pretty big deal. While cutting a path across middle America, in Rocky Point only about 60% of the effect was seen.
But don’t tell that to these home owners along Las Conchas Beach. At about the time that the eclipse was doing it’s magic, their retaining wall was crumbling into the sand. Ouch!
This is the time of year when tides are at their highest in Peñasco. The extra pull of the moon crossing the sun brought the waves right up to a couple of properties that are in close proximity to the ocean. Down came a sizable wall.
Some people had predicted that the eclipse would cause earthquakes, or other world changing events. So far, it looks like a couple of homes in Rocky Point have received the brunt of this cosmic outpouring of energy. No one was hurt!
