.. means Ramons’ Kitchen, and that’s what has always drawn people to this slightly out of the way place for years. Chef Ramon Ramos is always there with his personal touch. Regulars become friends as time goes by.
The atmosphere at ‘Ramons’ is traditional Mexican. From the tables and chairs, plates, and artwork on the walls, the decor has a handmade feel, which is reflected in the food.
Dinner starts with the expected bowl of chips and salsa, but the chips are big and thick, and the salsa doesn’t get spicy until you eat about half of the bowl. Nice cold Mexican beer, Margaritas, or ‘limonada’ (lemonade) is there to help.
Special to the menu are the Chilies en Nogada, bright green poblanos stuffed with ground meet and vegetables, covered in a cream sauce. More typical fare like the Steak Tampiquena, or Chicken Mole Enchiladas are done just right, and the plates are big! a nice flan or ice cream is there for desert too. I am always full and satisfied when I leave La Cosina de Ramon.
Ramon has a second location in the lobby of the Sonoran Sea Resort on Sandy Beach. Same good food with a breakfast buffet on weekends.
