This New Years Eve, as well as the days around it, look to have more than the usual amount of live music happening around town. Here is a look at what’s going down . . .
South Side Jillz on Calle 13 near the Hotel Peñasco del Sol brings the blues to you New Years Eve. The Wild Bunch is an ensemble that regularly performs in Rosarito, Mexico, between Ensenada and Tijuana. Early ‘Gringo’ hours for this one, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Wrecked at the Reef has their annual Black and White New Years Eve Bash. STarting at 9:00pm, the evening features the regular house band, La Merca.
Boo Bar brings Phoenix guitarist Carvin Jones to town for a 9:00pm show on the 31st, who will hold the stage for more music on the next two nights as well.
January 2nd, starting at 5:00pm is local favorite Mark Mulligan. Marks got the originals to sing about life lived on the shores of Mexico. Life in the slow lane, as it were. There is always a good turn out at Caribbean Parrot for a Mark Mulligan show, so get there early if you want to be up front.
