You might not know it, but Rocky Point offers 3 great options for a day of golf. Laguna del Mar, Mayan Palace, and the Links at Las Palomas each offer their unique character and challenges to golf lovers. Here’s a rundown of what to expect.
The Club at Laguna del Mar
Heading west out of town along the new coastal highway you will find Laguna del Mar golf course. The striking setting for a dagys golf are the links running close by the ocean, and in between the dunes above a saltwater estuary. Don’t be surprised to find paddle boarders gliding over the protected waters. Lots of wildlife calls the estuary home. Seabirds of all kinds can be found here.
This Jack Nicklaus Signature Rocky Point golf course is moderately challenging for most players, including a greater number of traps than you will find elsewhere. There is a clubhouse, as well as a golf shop.
Vidanta Peninsula Golf Course
This course course is out of town to the east, and is a part of the property that comprises the Grand Mayan resort. Vidanta is well known with tourists for resorts and golf courses located in some of Mexico’s top vacation destinations, like Nuevo Vallarta and Los Cabos discover this.
This course is a Nicklaus Legacy design. Nine holes stretch along the Sea of Cortez on one Side, with an estuary on the other. The fairways are a bit longer here than at the other two major courses, you will find. This is an 18 hole, par 72 course. Their is a pro shop, a putting green, as well as a bar and restaurant.
Links at Las Palomas
The Links at Las Palomas is an 18 hole, par 72 championship course. A part of the Las Palomas Golf and Beach Resort, the course is at home right in the center of Puerto Penascos resort area. This Rocky Point golf course is known for its undulating, windswept terrain, manicured greens, and natural rolling dunes. There are chipping and putting greens, and a pro shop.
